The NDIA has set new price limits for Art and Music Therapists following recommendations from the Independent Review of these therapies. This ensures that therapy remains accessible, valued, and better aligned with participant needs.
2. Updated Claiming Guidance
‘Other Professional’ support items will now follow revised claiming guidelines creating more consistency and clarity for both providers and participants.
3. Removal of the COVID Addendum
The COVID Addendum and related support items will be removed, marking a full transition away from pandemic-era measures.
4. Adjusted SDA Calculator
The Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) calculator will be updated to reflect the annual indexation process linked to the Disability Support Pension.
5. Assistive Technology and Consumables Updates
Changes in Assistive Technology, Home Modifications, and Consumables Code Guide include creating, modifying, or removing support items to keep the list aligned with current participant needs.
6. Clearer Community Participation Descriptions
Item descriptions for Community Social and Recreational Activities have been updated to make them clearer and more consistent, supporting more meaningful community involvement.
New Operational Guideline for Therapy Supports
Alongside pricing updates, NDIA has released a new Operational Guideline for Therapy Supports.
This guideline aims to bring more transparency and consistency to how therapy supports are understood and accessed. It explains:
